He went on to complete a one-year credentialing tour in General Dentistry at the Marine Recruiting Depot Parris Island in Beaufort, SC.
Immediately after receiving his postgraduate training, Dr. Okeke joined the staff onboard USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76) which at the time was preparing to go through a transition phase into an unprecedented three carrier crew swap comprising over 15,000 sailors. Dr. Okeke set out to treat patients using the full scope of general dentistry: advanced treatment planning, fixed prosthodontics including crowns, veneers, and implant restorations, CAD/CAM dentistry, endodontic procedures and consultations with specialists. Additionally, Dr. Okeke also functioned as the dental department’s training and preventative medicine officer.
Dr. Okeke was selected to be one of the first officers to crew swap from the USS Ronald Reagan over to the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71). At that time the USS Theodore Roosevelt was in the middle of conducting operations in the Arabian Gulf in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, a military campaign in Iraq and Syria against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) as part of a global war on terrorism. During the deployment Dr. Okeke also completed an endodontic correspondence course from the Navy Postgraduate Dental School, an accredited ADA CERP recognized provider. Fortified with his knowledge, passion and correspondence from endodontists ashore, Dr. Okeke tackled the vast majority of endodontic emergencies and procedures while deployed.
After completing his two-year aircraft carrier tour Dr. Okeke transferred to Camp Lejeune, NC where he provided combat medical and dental deployment support to II Marine Expeditionary Units and humanitarian missions in support of over 9,000 marines and sailors. In July 2017 Dr. Okeke honorably completed his Navy service with distinction and enrolled in the endodontic residency program at Louisiana State University Health Science Center – New Orleans. Dr. Okeke graduated with a Certificate in Endodontics and Master of Science in Dentistry in September 2019 and moved to the Atlanta, Georgia region to practice as a full time Endodontist.
Dr. Okeke thoroughly enjoys practicing the full scope of endodontics and prides himself on his strong relationship with referrals and commitment to patients. When not in the office he enjoys hiking, cycling, kayaking and exploring diverse cuisines the great Peach State has to offer.
